Painting “Thousand shades of white or Predator. White day”, Canvas, Oil paint, Animalistic, 2019
I create a picture with a unique technique - using a thousand shades of white. Because of that, I was able to reach the effect called «phantom», when a human’s consciousness refuses to see anything at first. However, as our eye adapts, small elements of many shades come into one puzzle, creating an unexpected picture
This artwork has not only aesthetic but a conceptual value. Honestly, «Predator. A white day» is stories of those whose lifestyles remind predators. People, that are able to forget about others, destroy everything and everyone for the sake of their personal ambitions and goals. Evil often covers in white therefore in society it’s difficult to recognize people-predators. That’s why at first predator may be unnoticed in my painting. However, if you look closely you will see who is who. In conclusion, even in «white» can hide someone dangerous. These paintings show the character of the modern world.
With the name «Predator. A white day» I want to discuss a global rhetorical question: «How come we humans - the highest form of existence, decided to live under rules of less developed species?». Evil became an ordinary thing in our daily lives, that makes us follow the laws of a jungle. This artwork shows my negative view of this. We, humans, are owners of high intelligence, so we should solve our problems, not like predators, but look for a peaceful solution.
