Painter. Born in the village of Novoandreyevka Tikhvin uyezd, Novgorod province into a peasant family, died in Poltava.
After his father's death was brought up in the family of his uncle and orphanage for poor children.
With 14 years of I. Orlov worked in the Synodal printing house and during this time he attended the drawing school of Society for encouragement of arts.
He studied at the St. Petersburg Academy (studied with D. Kardovsky, M. and F. A. Rubo).
Performed scenic and mosaic works to the Russian Museum and mosaic for the Suvorov Museum.
Since 1918 he lived permanently in Poltava, worked in local theater and taught drawing.
1930 - a teacher of the Poltava Institute of engineers of agricultural building.
A member of AHRR (1926-27), AHCHOY (1927-30) and CFS (1945).
