The uniqueness of the Pripyat Polesye lies in the fact that thanks to the natural geographical conditions (inaccessible forests, swamps) in the culture of this region - in folk architecture, traditional everyday life, folklore, dialects, folk applied art - many relict features dating back to ancient times have been preserved. The folklore tradition of Polesie, practically free from non-Slavic influences, can serve as a kind of standard for the reconstruction of the all-Slavic folklore fund. It is in the Polesie region that pre-Christian rituals still exist today.
