Maximilian Otto Konrad Alfred Knecht was born on 6. April 1875 born in Basel, Switzerland. The swearing-in on the Flag took place on 5. October, 1892. As a Lieutenant, he was from 1905 to 1908 as a member of the Imperial protection force in German East Africa in the service. There he took part in the campaigns and battles Mahalaka, Liqunge mountain and Ruahn successfully - what he orders in addition to the crowns, the Zähringer lion order as well as the Access order is received. Thereafter, he should contribute as a member of the German colonial society, and as a captain and company-chief in infantry-Regiment 113 of the service provided. The M.
