Pierre Jaquet-Droz was one of the greatest masters of watchmaking

in the Eighteenth century. Born in Neuchâtel, he

part of a great dynasty of watchmakers and placed

his talent at the service of the creation of automata

purchased music, in particular by Ferdinand VI of Spain

or Lord Macarney who sent to the Emperor of

China. In 1772, his success is considerable, and it opens

branch offices in Paris, Basel, Neuchâtel and London, where he

works with Leschot in 1782.

Antoine Foullet was received as master on February 17, 1749, and had

rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. He worked especially

for watchmakers, producing sheaths of regulators in

wood of the east Indies, that it was reproduced in bronze melted in Héban,

rue des Arcis.
