On page 1 is pasted on the label indicating that the book was donated by the author to the library of the University of Petrograd on 31 August 1916, Very good condition. Uncut copies of the book covers the three main eras in Russia's relations with the Empire of the Ottomans: Catherine, the Crimean war and the war of 1877-1878 Author : a prominent Russian diplomat and historian. The son of privy councillor, Senator A. K. giers, the former Deputy Minister of Finance; the nephew of the Minister of foreign Affairs under Alexander III N. K. Girs. Worked as a Consul in Trieste, Romania, Cannes, Bushehr, Thessaloniki, was Ambassador in Montenegro, headed the press Department of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Empire and the St. Petersburg Telegraph Agency (SPA). After 1917 was in exile. Very rare (price in shop "Russian bibliophile" - 170000 rbl.). International book 71-199.
