Approx. 51cm long, wooden gold plated, carved, elongated upwardly open body with a metal insert and 5 webs for attachment of the incense plant, a very good state of preservation. The hollowed body is used for the recording of a slowly smoldering embers. On strings hung tin balls will fall down, when the gluten separates the strings. Incense clocks were used to measure shorter intervals of time in Chinese temples. A nearly identical Räucherwerkuhr was in the 88. Auction by Dr. Crott auctions, as Los.342!
