Approx. 56mm approx. 160g, 18K rose gold, London Hallmarks 1810, case makers mark IG, original dust cover, signed and numbered, referred to a highly fine English work with computing anchor escapement and Diamond endstone, exceptionally large steel balance Board "PATENT", magnificently engraved cock, perfectly preserved enamel dial, red gold hands, in the edge of the housing lever to Stop the second, minimal signs of use on the housing, functional, extremely rare and exceptionally serious English collector's watch. Most pocket watches with computing anchor escapement, silver case, in this heavy gold version they are found very rarely. John Whitehurst, with headquarters in Derby and London, in the literature as a "EMINANT MAKER" listed (source: Baillie, page 340). Together with his son he founded the firm of Whitehurst & Son in 1805, and signed his watches with this signature until 1846. Among other things, the company was one of the competitors for the Big Ben, westminste dysentery.
