Approx. 55mm, approx. 165g, 18K Gold, Hallmarks London in 1886, and highly complicated precision movement with screwed gold chatons and Diamond endstone, lever escapement, Repetition of hours, quarters and minutes, a real perpetual calendar taking account of the different month lengths and leap years, circuit Board, signed and numbered, in addition to CERTIFICATE CLASS A, the KEW OBSERVATORY", original enamel dial with display of the perpetual calendar, phase of the moon and of the lunar calendar, blued steel pointer, in a function referred to as:" proficient, very good condition. The watch is delivered with a copy from the Kew archive, after the watch in 1888, has been tested and 82.0 points reached. The company S. Smith & Son, London, Makers to the Admiralty, was one of the most important English manufacturers of complicated watches, pocket watches and produced, among other things, the finest of Pocket chronometers and Tourbillons.
