About: Ø53mm, approx. 151g, 18K Gold, case maker-Punzzeichen "LC" (Louis Comptesse, Soho, London), London Hallmarks 1840, No. 505, case and movement number are the same, full platinum movement with spring detent escapement screws to Thomas Earnshaw, bimetallic gold Chronometer balance, Diamond endstone, high fine quality, beautifully engraved cock, Repetition of the hours, quarter-hours and quarter hours, very well maintained, signed and numbered enamel dial, fine Fleur-De-Lys, steel hands, very good state of preservation, rarity for collectors of English Chronometer. Chronometer with escapement according to Earnshaw, and additional repeaters are very rare. George Moore was recorded from 1814-1894 and Partner of Frodsham. The manufacturer of the fine Gold case Louis Comtesse, one of the best case makers of his time. The clock was originally part of the chronograph collection, which was auctioned in the anniversary auction by Dr. Crott.
