The young Joseph Stieler presents his mother with a lace bonnet and a dark green dress at the age of about 50 years, in nearly the same year also a thumbnail with your image (see CR dated.-No. 4), which shows you in a very similar Habitus. First of all, Joseph Stieler, who had enjoyed with his father the first lessons took place, the models for his portraits in his immediate family environment. A miniature with the portrait of his sister Babette (CR no. 3), was so popular in the case of a frame Drechsler, that he received then, and not only them, but also of many other Mainz citizens jobs, could him and his family secure after the death of the father. This early work shows the great Talent of the then only 14 year-old Joseph Stieler, later as the Creator of the beauty gallery of Louis I. to go down in the history of art.
