A very expressive sculpture created in 2/3 life size, which is the Buddha of the future age, in Sanskrit, Maitreya, is called, in the Pali (Burma) Metteya. Of the five earthly Buddhas, he is the last, in his name, Maitri means "" the "goodness". Characteristic of him Sitting on a Lotus pedestal, made bare feet, it is called the posture Bhadrasana, "lucky seat". The position of the hands can be different, very often it is the "Turning of the wheel of the doctrine", in the present sculpture, however, is the Abhaya Mudra, the gesture of "encouragement" and in the down held in the palm of your hand with the Varada Mudra, the "wish-fulfillment". Impressive, the face design is, it is in the style of Ava, it shows strong hochbogige Brew, which will be transferred to the root of the nose in an unusually fine narrow nose. The curved, eyes large and effectively inserted. The skull roof is almost flat, Ushnisha, and a (removable) Lotus Bud, in the form of a Stupa. The complete dial gold-plated sculpture (the Burmese Gold is known for its beautiful, strong tone) shows aging. The Lotus pedestal is likely to have been refreshed, however, occasionally with coloured paint.
