THE HARDWORKING MOTHER is German, Thuringia, around 1900, porcelain, polychrome painting. H. 21,5 cm. Under glaze blue 'N' crown (part. ground), Base Ref. 'La mère laborieuse d'après Chardin'. On a Base with frieze edge representation of the seat nut in the hand, in addition, the assistant's daughter. Socket to rest., Hand of the daughter and chair retouched, the spindle lost. The original painting by Jean-Siméon Chardin (1699-1779) is kept in the Louvre. Provenance: Rhenish Private Collection.
