CHINA, 16. Century.
The fine Relief modelled Lotus flowers and tendrils filled with white, yellow and turquoise enamel. The bulbous top part of the Vase, with elegant S-profile and subtle, extravagant mouth. In the Interior with grass green enamel. The Lotus decoration of this Vase is similar to some of the Fahua objects, Jessica Harrison-Hall has worked in "Ming Ceramics in the British Museum", for example, a Lotus-decorated barrel, p. 425, Fig. 13:32, as well as a Fahua Porcelain with Lotus-Relief, p. 430, Fig. 13:44 and another Calabash vase, p. 414, Fig. 13:11. All the objects were in the first half of the 16th century. Century. dated.
