Zurab Konstantinovich Tsereteli (Russian: Зураб Константинович Церетели) is a Soviet, Georgian and Russian muralist, sculptor, painter, graphic artist, designer and teacher. He is considered one of the leading contemporary sculptors of Russia, president of the Russian Academy of Arts, and founder and director of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Zurab Tsereteli has created more than 5,000 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, monumental and decorative art. Among his most famous works are the statue of Peter the Great in Moscow, the monument "Tear of Grief" in New York, the sculpture "Birth of the New World" in Puerto Rico.
