In front of the building of the blacksmith with a horse. Signed lower right and 1827 dated. Oil on wood. 32 x 38 cm. Slide-in strips. Restored Frame. The theme of forging Heinrich Bürkel had addressed already in the 1820s, to vary it later in a different environment again. His meticulous painting style makes him a predominantly clayey range of deep spatial effects. Although Bürkel was able to obtain no academic training at the Munich Academy, witnesses but all of his paintings, which mostly extensive studies preceded by its high technical and artistic. In 1825, two years before the creation of the painting, was Bürkel a member of the 1824-founded the Munich Kunstverein, which contributed significantly to its success. The lively exhibition activities, Bürkel was able to quintuple the prices of his works within a few years.
