Ceramic with black under glaze brand majolica Schramberg hand painted and Prägenr., rectangular slightly rounded Bauhaus body, Lid with Double handle, yellow - and brown-colored geometric decoration, design Eva Zeisel (* 13.11.1906 in Budapest, † 30.12.2011 in New York City) was an American industrial designer, was born as Éva Amália Striker in a wealthy & educated Jewish family, of 1923-24, she studied painting at the Royal art Academy in Budapest, she received an apprenticeship as a Potter & opened a workshop at the Kispest ceramic factory in Budapest & developed prototypes, from 1927 onwards, she designed for the Hansa art pottery in Hamburg & 1928/30, she was a designer for the Schramberg majolica Schramberg, where she designed a number of tea sets, vases, Inkwells and other ceramics, their designs for the Schramberg majolica based in large part on geometric forms and influenced by the Bauhaus style, is approximately 12 x 17 cm, H. 11 cm, well-preserved
