The hunting goddess Diana, presented to Ceres a hunted hare. Imaginative tree landscape with rich floral and fruit decoration, and other animal and figure staffage. Oil on wood. 56.7 x 87.5 cm. Restored Min. dam. Frame. Abraham Govaerts was the first artist to the work of Jan Brueghel d. J., and was probably his pupil. Through his mono-thematically oriented work of Govaerts is considered to be the "forest painters". For typical density, late summer, open up Lich leafy foliage of groups of trees, views of river landscapes, in addition to the Central group of trees subject, the image depth. Many of the paintings Govaerts' created in collaboration with Antwerp's small figure painters such as Frans d. J. and Hendrick van Balen Francken, as well as Members from their studios. Since 1617 employed Abraham Govaerts several apprentices in his Studio. Abraham Govaerts was the first artist to the work of Jan Brueghel d. J., and was probably his pupil.
