Johann Anton Eismann (Eisenmann), stepfather of the Venetian painter Carlo Brisighella, gen. Eismann, was on landscapes, Vedute and battle paintings of specialized artists. After a stay in Munich, where he stated, inter alia, orders for the Bavarian elector, Eismann 1644 demonstrate for the first time, in Venice. After a prolonged stay in Rome, he traveled, accompanied by his step-son, in turn, to Munich, and finally to Prague, Salzburg and Vienna. In 1663, he settled permanently in Venice. The early work of Iceman is also shaped significantly by the art of the Salvator Rosas. In addition, suggestions made in Italy make Bamboccianten, especially Jan van Ossenbeeks and Jan Asselijns are undetectable. The present painting is stylistically in the Tradition of the aforementioned artists. Cf. Haslinger, Adolf / Mittermayr, Peter (Hrsg.), Salzburg's Cultural Lexicon.
