(Dust cover brass/gold-plated), outside fine guilloche. White enamel dial with arab. Numerals & small recessed second. Plant- & case-no.: 17541. Swan neck fine adjustment. D: approx. 50mm (measured without crown). Dust cover rubbed slightly, otherwise the watch is in good visual condition and a great collectors piece. Julius Aßmann was a pioneer of German watchmaking, it was prior to the founding of his own company and others, in LANGE & SÖHNE. After his death in 1886, his son Paul Aßmann took over the business. The whole company was only until approx. the end of the 1. World war in a family-owned and then had to be due to war-related consequences sold.
