A dancing bride-to-be surrounded the couple on the threshing floor, and of musicians, and the school organises the country people. On the warped wooden bench on the left of the rest signed (.). Oil on wood. 40 x 56 cm. Restored frame min. dam. The works of Adriaen van Ostades aimed at a wealthy audience, although its main theme is the genre of the Peasant. Thus, it is his Work to a more artistic approach to the reality of peasant life, but counter-images to the civic life of the customer. Some of the Oversubscription of the displayed characters may have their cause, the rich collectors appreciated it, apparently, very humorous with the rural "to be against the world" face. Some of the Oversubscription of the displayed characters may have their cause, the rich collectors appreciated it, apparently, very humorous with the rural "to be against the world" face. Characteristic of Adriaen van Ostades paintings of the earlier period (until the mid-40s) is a dark room characterised interior, in which the character groups with a clear bright dark and the local colour accentuated placed. The spaces are often characterized by a sloping roof rafters, and wood be combined with flat ceilings. The character types are played in this time karikierend, the influence of Adriaen Brouwer is unmistakable. This should have been found during the literature under - training in the workshop of Frans Hals' his classmates. A compositionally and stylistically similar paintings of "village festival" from the Hand of Adriaen van Ostades is in the collection of the Mauritshuis, The Hague (Inv.No. 580). This will be in the 30s of the 17th century. Century dated. The present painting is documented in the archives of the RKD in the Form of a photograph (Box 18, no. 560; Fotonr. 58517). In 1958 a correspondence with the collections of the Mauritshuis in respect of the "peasant wedding" seems to be guided, which can currently be according to the RKD, however, not accessed. It is an opinion of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorisches Documentatie, The Hague, from 1. May 2018. The authenticity of the present painting is not questioned on the Basis of photographs.
