Los 1252 | An Order of the German Eagle 2nd Class Pin-Back Breast Cross with Swords 1937-43 by Godet & Co. in its Original Case of Issue
Multi-piece construction, Maltese cross in gilded silver and well preserved white enamel; with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross, applied gilt swords, reverse with barrel hinge, rounded catch and tapered pin stamped "900" and "21". Size ca. 49.87 x 49.36 mm, weight 32.1 g. Small lapel version of cross in gilded silver and white enamel, reverse with circular ring attached by two posts, size ca. 14.75 x 14.84 mm. Original case of issue, constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red leatherette exterior, embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid, interior of the lid lined in off-white rayon, embossed "Deutscher Adlerorden II. Stufe mit Schwerten" in golden lettering on the inside of the lid, with a black recessed medal bed, functional clasp for opening and closing, intact interior hinge cover, functional exterior metal hinge,. Extremely fine condition, size ca. 108 x 107 x 24 mm.
