An Order of the German Eagle 3rd Class 1937-43 by Godet & Co., in its original case of issue
Multi-piece construction, Maltese cross in gilded silver and well preserved white enamel, with four national eagles (Hoheitszeichen) between the arms of the cross, stamped on suspension eyelet "900", "21", original ribbon with pin attachment. Size ca. 45.12 x 45.02 mm, weight 23.1 g. Original case of issue constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red leatherette exterior, embossed with a golden national eagle on the outside lid with a golden line on all four edges of the top lid, interior of the lid lined in off-white rayon, embossed "Verdienstkreuz III. Stufe des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler" in golden lettering on the inside of the lid, with a black recessed medal bed, functional clasp for opening and closing, intact interior hinge cover, functional exterior metal hinge. Extremely fine condition, size ca. 125 x 72 x 24 mm.
