NOTE:
Ishikawa Shundai, from Kaga and known as Keisuke and Setsudō, was a Shinshū Ōtani monk and elder of Higashi Honganji. He joined Ōtani Kōgyō on an earlyMeiji inspection trip to Europe and America, later promoting the modernization of the Buddhist organization and engaging in missionary work in East Asia. A noted connoisseur of calligraphy and painting, he handled many artworks, adding his seals and inscriptions to their boxes.

Further details
Watanuki Sakae (1880-1965) was an industrialist and prominent local figure from Inami Town in Toyama Prefecture. In his early years, he worked in education and government posts before turning to business management, where he left a lasting impact on regional development. Throughout his life, he was an avid appreciator of Chinese artworks and compiled the Chinese Works of Art in the Watanuki Collection, which includes carefully curated calligraphy, paintings, inkstones, and bronze artifacts, all finely printed using collotype techniques.
