Inscribed and signed by Milne with a poem to one of the actors. First edition of his second play, . This light-hearted play follows the flirtatious Belinda Tremayne and her 19 year-old daughter Delia, while they summer at their country home in Devon. When a statistician and a poet both begin courting Belinda, the mother and daughter develop a scheme to discourage the suitors, kicking off this amusing, “April Folly.” The present booklet is not only inscribed by A.A. Milne to an actress who played Delia, but also heavily annotated to call out her lines and cues. The inscription reads: "The book belongs to Molly Kew / Who played the part of Delia / (A Cockney rhyme – so let us say / She was a charming De-li-ay)."
Octavo (210 x 140mm). Half-title. Two photogravures inserted depicting the set (thumbed and worn). Original printed blue paper wrappers (backstrip nearly perished, small stain to rear wrapper).
