Provenance: the author’s own copy (library label on front pastedown and signed bookplate on front free endpaper).

— The Trojan Horse. London: Collins, [1940].
First edition of one of the author’s scarcest books. Octavo. 2pp. of publisher’s ads at end (marginal spotting, heaviest to first few leaves, inconsequential splitting to textblock). Original purple cloth, spine lettered in silver (cocked, lightly rubbed and marked, slight bubbling to cloth); original price-clipped dust-jacket (creased and worn, some chips with minor loss in two places). Provenance: gift inscription (front free endpaper).

— Killer Mine. London: Collings, 1974.
First edition of a Cornish thriller. Octavo. Original burgundy cloth, spine lettered in silver (spine ends just faded, a few faint marks); original dust-jacket (lightly rubbed and creased, spine ends frayed just affecting a couple of letters, a few small nicks and short closed tears, lower panel marked).

VERNER, Gerald [John Robert Stuart Pringle] (1897–1980). The Vampire Man. London: Wright & Brown Ltd., [1934].
First edition of a vampire thriller. Octavo. 2 leaves of publisher’s ads at end (light spotting). Original orange cloth, spine lettered in black (faint rubbing to extremities, endpapers partially browned); original dust-jacket (spine ends frayed and with loss to a few letters at foot, partial reinforcement to reverse, lightly rubbed and creased with a few short closed tears).

MOLONY, Trevor (fl. c. 1935). The Peacock Throne. London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1935.
First edition in the scarce dust-jacket. Octavo. Two leaves of publisher’s ads at end (a few light spots). Original orange cloth, spine and upper cover lettered in black, spine and lower cover with publisher’s device stamped (faintest wear); original dust-jacket (lower panel soiled, evidence of removed sticker to lower spine resulting in some loss to printed price and publisher’s name, a few short closed tears and nicks repaired on verso with tape).
