First edition of an Inspector MacDonald mystery. Octavo. 8 leaves of publisher’s ads at end (light spotting to title, half-title and foredge). Original black cloth spine lettered in gilt (extremities rubbed and mottled, endpapers browned); original dust-jacket designed by Youngman Carter and priced at 7/6, possibly supplied from another copy.

BERKELEY, Anthony (1893-1971). Panic Party. London: Hodder and Stoughton Limited, 1934.
First edition of the final Roger Sheringham mystery. Octavo. Frontispiece map. Original blue cloth, spine and upper cover lettered in black (spine sunned); original dust-jacket priced at 7/6 (lightly marked and nicked). Provenance: David Grunbaum (bookseller’s stamp to front free endpaper) — Antikvar-Boden (bookseller’s stamp to rear endpaper).

BULLIVANT, Cecil H. (1882-1981). Garnett Bell, Detective. London: Odhams Limited, [1920].
First edition of the first work in the Garnett Bell series. 16mo (169 x 155mm). (Toned, a few leaves creased.) Original red cloth, covers blindstamped, spine lettered in brown, endpapers printed with advertisements (hinges a little tender); original dust-jacket designed by J. Abbey and priced at 2/- (lightly marked and abraded, chip to upper panel with partial loss of one letter of title, a few further nicks along bottom edge). Provenance: contemporary gift inscription on front free endpaper, dated 25-12-21.

GRIBBLE, Leonard R. (1908-1985). The Arsenal Stadium Mystery. London: George Harrap & Co. Ltd., 1939.
First edition of an Inspector Slade mystery in the rare dust-jacket. Octavo. Two in-text illustrations. Original red cloth, spine and upper cover lettered and with vignette stamped in white (edges and spine sunned and stained, endpapers partially browned); original dust-jacket priced at 7/6 (tanned, creased and rubbed, chips to end of backstrip and lower panel, several tears all repaired on verso with tape). Provenance: T. J. Sykes (two ownership inscriptions to front free endpaper).

First edition, presentation copy, of a Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone. Octavo. Frontispiece and 8 illustrations by H. M Brock, a further six photographic and sketch illustrations (scattered spotting). Original brown cloth, spine lettered in gilt, upper cover with titles and illustration stamped in light brown and black (slightly cocked and rubbed, endpapers browned, some splitting to rear hinge). Provenance: Willoughby M. Willoughby (authorial presentation inscription to front free endpaper, dated 10th November 1909).

First edition of the tenth novel in the Albert Campion series. Octavo. Original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt (tiny white speckled marks to top edge of upper cover, endpapers browned); original dust-jacket priced at 8s. 6d. (detached at upper joint, creasing and chips with partial loss to a few letters of author’s name on upper panel, and similar loss to title and publisher’s name on backstrip, lower cover lightly soiled).

First edition. Octavo. (Spotting to a few leaves, single inconsequential split to textblock.) Original blue cloth, spine lettered in black (slightly cocked, spine and upper edge sunned and speckled); original price-clipped dust-jacket (large closed tear to upper cover and a few smaller tears and nicks repaired on verso with tape, backstrip and panel joints reinforced on verso).
