Book object with 3 books. 1 book with 11 letterpress etchings on laid paper by Helge
Leiberg and text by Livius, bound in Japanese block binding, with terracotta cover. 19 x
19 x 3cm. Signed, dated and numbered on the imprint. 1 book by Ekkeland Götze, painted by
the artist himself with earth from the Great St. Bernard on handmade paper, embossed and
bound, text by Polybios. 19 x 19 x 6cm. Signed and dated on the first page. Numbered in
the imprint. 1 book with 13 original earth paintings by Ekkeland Götze, with earth from
Great St. Bernard on handmade paper, printed and bound by the artist himself, text by
Livius. 19 x 19 x 4,5cm. 2 supplementary sheets with an elephant's footprint and an
accompanying text in German and English respectively. Each 57 x 38cm, folded to the format
19 x 19cm. In the original wooden slipcase. Number: 14/24.


Condition:
Book by Helge Leiberg: Minimally discoloured on the outer sides of the book block due to the terracotta. Polybios book by Ekkeland Götze: Craquelure in the raised parts of the earth images due to the manufacturing process. English accompanying text with minimal bumping to one edge. Occasional minimal rubbing to slipcase. Otherwise very good condition.
