A small sword M 1889 for officers of the Schutztruppe after 1913
The second model with a nickel-plated, single-edged blade with double fullers on both sides, the manufacturer's mark "P. O. & Co." (Pack, Ohliger & Co., Solingen) at the root, brass knuckle-bow hilt, fish-scale grip (rubbed and cracked) with the cipher "WR II" appliquéd on the front, wire winding, the national eagle on the guard plate. Steel scabbard (re-lacquered in black) with one movable suspension ring. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age. Length 97.5 cm. The thread of the tang has been re-ground. The small sword subsequently re-worked and assembled from original components.
