From the private library of Mica and Ahmet Ertegun, a collection of rare works recording Turkish history and culture from the Early Modern Period.

RYCAUT, Paul. The History of the Turks. London: Robert Clavell and Abel Roper, 1700. Engraved frontispiece portrait of Rycaut. Folio (occasional dampstaining). Early panelled calf (recased preserving much of original calf). Provenance: John [?Catton] (1703 ownership inscription on flyleaf).

LE HAY, Jacques. Recueil de cent estampes representant differents nations du Levant. Paris: Basan, 1714. 100 engraved plates including three double-page plates (of 102, missing no. 29, 35), plus 15 pages of engraved text pages with full-page sheet music. Folio (occasional foxing and toning). Later quarter red morocco, in cloth box (rebacked, worn). Provenance: Mrs Augustin Germain (ex dono inscription, 1830) – Literary & Historical Society of Quebec (stamp and ex dono inscription from the former).

D’OHSSON. Tableau général de l’Empire Othoman. Paris: 1787–90. Folio, 2 vols. Half-titles, engraved title, 137 engraved plates (9 double page) and 2 double-page tables. Uniform later diced and gilt-ruled calf, a.e.g. (first vol. rebacked, second vol. upper hinge cracked). Provenance: George Ramsay, 9th Earl of Dalhousie, 1770–1838 (bookplates).
