Gemstones: 29 round and oval turquoise-cabochons Ø ca. 3.9 - 14.9 mm.
Description: Due to the British colonial rule and the trade with India jewellery from India or works with an Indian style were highly sought after.
Necklace constructed of 52 extremely delicate gold-strands with a matt finish, a typical character for those times. Verso of the middle element is as snap clasp with which the necklace can be divided.
Original box by jewellers Read & Son, 77 Jermyn Street, enclosed.
Sewed into the box is an old paper strip with the dedication "Indian turquoise necklace given to Cath (?) Lady Culidon for her marriage by W. Henry Chauders".
