Hodara, Vittorio (Mailand, 1960 - Santa Sofia, 2016): A set of six plexiglass chairs, modell VH 14_003, designed in 2014. Manufactured by Hodora Art Designer, Milano, in 2014. Colourless plexiglass with gold foil inclusions, seat and base connected by four chromed allens screws. Sideward manufacturer’s label with serial number. The entrepreneur Vittorio Hodora started relative late with his professional furniture design. In 2012 he took the chance to found an own firm to make his hobby in profession to implement his furniture designs in limited-lot production. In these process was the compability of elegangance and functionality one of his main ideas which were influenced by a sentence of Coco Chanel in 1923 who said „Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance." About his own furnitures Hodora said in a newspaper interview in 2014: „I want to creata somthing which is not liable to a special mode. Definitely valuable items, but never expensive. The price is a consequence oft he material‘s value and the know-how oft he production, not of the brand or a special trend. In the same year Hodora presented his first furniture at the Triennale in Milano. By his early death ist he complete work of Vittorio Hodora limited of a few pieces. - Collection Schaufler.
