(Probably) Anonymous sale; A.J. Paillet, Paris, 9 April 1793, lot 76 (600 livres), 'Laurent de la Hire. Le sujet d'Angélique & Médor pris dans l'instant que ces Amans gravent leurs noms sur l'écorce d'un arbre. Ce groupe intéressant est entouré de six Amours... un fond de paysage, largement touché & du ton de couleur le plus argentin, contribue à présenter un des ouvrages achevés du grand Artiste la Hire'. Haut. 51 p. larg. 52. T.'

Transferred to Schloss Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau, Germany.

Repatriated to France, 13 November 1945.

Restituted to Mme André Seligmann, 19 February 1946.
