Los 35 | PHOTOGRAPH OF DONNA SUMMER AND BROOKLYN DREAMS
Schätzwert
$ 200 – 300
Donna Summer poses with the band Brooklyn Dreams, featuring her then future husband, Bruce Sudano with Joe "Bean" Esposito and Ed Hokenson. Donna Summer first met the band in 1977 and found in Bruce Sudano a soulmate and songwriting partner. She realized early on that he "had a special talent for transforming descriptive scenes from the street into emotionally fulfilling music that appealed to me. We used to get together for songwriting sessions early in the morning, and spend all day an all night writing and singing songs till the sun came up the next day. I felt connected to Bruce's music. His songs spoke directly to me, and I sensed early on that I could learn a lot form him, and that perhaps there was something he could learn from me too." But also very early on—almost immediately—she felt a strong attraction to Sudano, and their relationship grew into a romantic one and the two were married in 1980. Apart from his songwriting collaborations with Donna Summer (most famously, "Bad Girls" in 1979), Brooklyn Dreams also toured with Donna Summer in the late 1970s (see Lot 36 for a set of tickets for the double bill from 1979).
