Special presentation on the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the "Kurland" service in the exhibition rooms of KPM Berlin from September 2010 to January 2011. Two pieces from this lot were exhibited as part of this anniversary exhibition.
We are delighted to be able to present pieces from the Kurland service that Thomas Mann and Katja Pringsheim received as a gift on the occasion of their wedding in Munich on 11th February 1905. It is safe to assume that it was used repeatedly in the following years for parties at their villa on Poschingerstraße near Herzogpark. Afterwards, it was inherited by the current owners. Parts of it were also shown in a special exhibition at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin.
