Charles Kinloch (1863-1930), Gourdie House, Perthshire, from whom presumably acquired before 1898 by,
with T. Lawrie & Co., London, where acquired on 3 September 1898 by,
Alexander M. Byers (1827-1900), Ridge Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and by descent to his son,
John Frederick Byers (1881-1949), and by inheritance to his sister,
Maude Lyon, née Byers (1869-1962), by 1932, and by descent to her daughter,
Martha B. Lyon Slater (1900-1977), New York, by 1956, and by descent.
Anonymous sale [The Property of an American Collector]; Christie’s, London, 18 November 1988, lot 21.
with Anthony Mould, London, where acquired in 1990 by the present owner.
