NOTE:
Wu Hao, also known as Yu, Chiyuan, Tui Jushi, and Tui Yuan Ci Ke, was born in Fushan, Guangdong Province. In 1948, he began studying Western art at the Guangdong Fine Art Institution and was employed under Ding Yanyong and Zhao Shao’ang. In 1954, he became a student of Xie Zhiliu. Wu has deep knowledge in Song and Yuan paintings. He was a close friend of Rong Geng and would often discuss art with him. Besides painting, Wu is also skilled in calligraphy, poetry, and seal carving.
