Walter Firle war ein deutscher Maler des späten neunzehnten und des ersten Drittels des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts. Er ist als Porträt- und Genremaler bekannt.
Firle schuf eine Reihe von Genrebildern und Gemälden zu religiösen Themen. Zu seinen berühmten Porträts gehören Darstellungen von Königen, Adeligen und berühmten Persönlichkeiten, darunter Prinzregent Luitpold von Bayern, Ludwig III. (König von Bayern) und der deutsche Reichspräsident Paul von Hindenburg. Mehrere seiner Werke wurden von der Nationalgalerie in Berlin erworben. Ein Porträt von Ludwig III. wurde auf einer Reihe bayerischer Briefmarken abgebildet.
Firle war Professor an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München und Mitglied der Münchner Künstlervereinigung.
