Fritz Uphoff was a German painter and graphic artist.
Fritz studied at the Elberfeld School of Crafts and Applied Arts, then at the Knirr School of Painting and the Munich Academy, traveled to Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Austria and painted everywhere. He was particularly interested in landscapes, which he idealized and painted in oil, as well as portraits and still lifes.
In 1911 Fritz Uphoff, together with his brother, the painter Karl Emil Uphoff (1885-1971), founded the working group "Worpswede", whose aim was to transform book illustration into a graphic work of art. He was a member of the Association of German Artists.
