Oscar Rex is an Austrian genre painter.
Oscar grew up in Prague, studied at the Munich Academy of Arts, then with leading artists in Paris, in the studios of Jules Breton and Mihai Munkacsi. One of Rex's works was awarded a bronze medal at the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris.
He painted domestic scenes and religious scenes, as well as paintings with subjects of historical events, such as the painting "It's Over: Napoleon I on the island of St. Helena" and others. In general, the personality of Napoleon Oscar Rex devoted about thirty paintings. In the style of the artist there is a certain theatricality, as well as attention to color and materials.
