Wieland Payer is a German artist. He uses graphic techniques, mainly pastel, to create landscapes. He finds his subjects on the go, while traveling and hiking. In the depiction of nature, he orientates himself, among other things, on Carl Blechen and Caspar David Friedrich, artists of the German Romantic era. However, Payer's works are also pervaded by geometric forms, which on the one hand are reminiscent of the achievements of modern technology such as telephone lines, but which are also integrated into the composition as abstract surfaces.
