Elie Anatole Pavil, born Ilya Anatolievich Pavil (Russian Илья Анатольевич Павиль), was a French painter of Russian origin. He came to Paris in 1891 at the age of 18 and after a short return to Russia, he settled in Montmartre in 1899, becoming a French citizen in 1911. Paville painted Parisian parks, gardens, boulevards and the River Seine during his professional career. In 1930 he became a Knight of the Legion of Honour and in the same year he moved to Morocco to live with his daughter. He died in Rabat in 1948.
