Clodion, actually Claude Michel, was a French sculptor of the second half of the 18th and the early 19th century, a great representative of neoclassicism. Claudion was a brilliant master of chamber art and became famous for his small rococo statuettes. Most of his original works are in fired clay, only a few in marble and bronze. The artist's biography contains many interesting facts to note.
