Signed ‘CLODION’ to the back, the white enameled dial signed 'Crosnier / AParis' with gilt-bronze frame, on a later ormolu-mounted faux marbre base

Confiscated from the above by the Einsatzstab Reichsleiter Rosenberg following the Nazi occupation of France in May 1940 (ERR crate no. R 748) and transferred to Germany.

Returned to France and restituted to the Rothschild family on 19 November 1946.
