Golden yellow silk exhibiting age. Obverse center depicts a Luftwaffe eagle inside a laurel wreath constructed in fine silver bullion exhibiting age. From the edges of the wreath to the corners are four beams of white silk bordered by stripes of black silk and all widening towards the corners. Near the end of the white beams is a black swastika embroidered of black silk with horizontal arms. Golden yellow silk field of reverse with embroidered gothic inscription “Fliegerhorstkommandantur Hildesheim” in fine silver bullion. The four edges are bordered by silver tress with two rows of 4.5 cm long silver aluminum fringe. The banner has a single grommet placed in bottom edge center and two at center top above tress along leather tube to accommodate silver aluminum thread ties for securing to the pole. Top of flag has a white leather tube sewn to accommodate the original cross bar. With prescribed aluminum hanger. Extremely rare. Ca. 32 cm x 28 cm.
