A BLUE-OVERLAY OPAQUE WHITE GLASS SNUFF BOTTLE

YANGZHOU, 1780-1850

The bottle is carved on one side with a leafy branch draping over a pair of ducks with a four-character seal inscription on the shoulder reading chunjiang shuinuan (water warms up in a spring river). The reverse is decorated with a lotus plant emerging from an alms bowl next to a spray of orchid flowers with a butterfly fluttering above.

2 1⁄8 in. (5.4 cm.) high, coral stopper
