Of a kappa in the guise of a South-Sea Islander with emaciated body and wearing a grass skirt, his right hand raised to face making the gesture known as bekkanko, the left hand on the back holding a movable peg made of ebony, the eyes and tongue move with the peg, with red pigment remnant; incised signature on the back
