The silver-gilt dish of scalloped circular form, the border with champlevé enamelled birds and foliate motifs, applied with a silver trompe l'oeil folded tablecloth, decorated with an enamelled crest of the Novaia-Ladoga district, and the monogram 'FR', also engraved with the red monogram 'EL', surmounted by a realistically cast and chased loaf of bread with hinged cover, engraved with French inscription 'To Mr Emile Loubé / President of the Republic of France / Offered by the Charitable Society / of the District of Novaia-Ladoga. / 9 May 1902.', marked throughout
