A contemporary account of the French and Indian WarThomas Mante, 1772MANTE, Thomas (fl. 1772). The History of the Late War in North-America and the Islands of the West-Indies, including the Campaigns of MDCCLXIII and MDCCLXIV against His Majesty's Indian Enemies. London: Printed for W. Strahan and T. Cadell, 1772. The “best contemporary account of this war.” (Howes). A rare edition with all maps and the elusive errata leaf. Thomas Mante was Assistant Engineer during the siege of Havana and Major of a brigade in the campaign of 1764. Mante details the Braddock campaign, other frontier campaigns under Washington, Amherst, Bradstreet and Bouquet and the Canadian campaigns. The history begins with the encroachment of the French in 1754 and concludes with the Treaty of Peace in 1763, followed by a narrative of Pontiac's War. Washington's involvement is detailed in depth, including an account of the 1753 assassination attempt by a Native American acting as his interpreter and guide. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
