SEHR FEINE IKONE MIT DER GOTTESMUTTER 'BOGOLUBSKAJA' MIT BASMA Russland, wohl Moskau, um 1900 Holztafel mit zwei Stirnseiten-Sponki, verso Samtabdeckung. Kowtscheg, Ölmalerei auf partiell graviertem Goldfond. Späteres Basma aus versilbertem Metall. 30,5 x 26,3 cm. Am linken Bildrand die ganzfigurige Darstellung der Gottesmutter in Chiton und rotem Maphorion. In ihrer Linken hält sie eine geöffnete Schriftrolle, während sie ihre Rechte in Fürbitte zu Christus richtet, der in der oberen rechten Ecke erscheint. Er hat seine Rechte im Segensgestus erhoben. Die rechte Bildhälfte zeigt 13 über vier Reihen angeordnete Heilige, darunter die vier Metropoliten von Moskau. Im Hintergrund angedeutete Landschaftskulisse. Der Legende nach erschien die Gottesmutter dem Fürsten Bogoljubow (gestorben 1175), um ihm aufzutragen ein Kloster zu erbauen. Dies tat der Fürst und ließ außerdem eine Marienikone nach seiner Vision malen. Die Ikonen der Gottesmutter Bogolobskaja fanden besonders in Zentralrussland Verbreitung.
